Research opportunities can significantly enhance the student experience as many students at Columbia Engineering are destined for the professional research environment, while others may work in professional capacities in tandem with the research function.
Students can engage in research during the academic year or during the summer. Typically students will work in a lab for 5-10 hours a week during the academic year and full-time during the summer for 8-12 weeks. Compensation can either be an hourly rate or academic credit.
Summer@SEAS
Please note that only Columbia Engineering faculty members can apply to participate in Summer@SEAS. Applications for this program opens every January.
All positions should be for full-time employment for approximately 8-12 weeks and advertised under Current Research Opportunities. All funded students must plan on returning to Columbia Engineering in the fall semester after the summer in which they are participating.
