Traumatic Brain Injury Research

We are sorry, this position has been filled.

The Neurotrauma and Repair Laboratory, directed by Professor Barclay Morrison in the department of biomedical engineering, is seeking highly qualified undergraduate students to participate in research projects with the overall goal to reduce the societal costs associated with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Interested students should be proficient in Matlab programming and have experience with sterile technique and tissue culture. Familiarity with compartmental modeling and quantitative physiology is preferred. Specific projects will focus on:
• researching the molecular pathophysiology of TBI
• developing instrumentation to simulate brain injury
• culturing rat brain tissue
• electrophysiological measurements and signal processing of neural activity
• studying brain injury biomechanics
Students with a minimum 3.0 GPA are invited to apply for research opportunities to explore the molecular, cellular, and functional consequences of TBI.
