Summer 2021 Education Experience for Undergraduates (EEU)

Inspire high school students this summer! Serve as a leader, mentor, and advisor to high school students participating in the Columbia Engineering Summer High School Academic Program for Engineers (SHAPE).

Columbia Engineering SHAPE is a selective summer program for current high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. The program is geared toward local students who have demonstrated an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Each 3-week session offers college-level courses, electives, student projects, and college preparation workshops. We were able to host a successful remote program in 2020, and will be virtual again for 2021. While we are hopeful for a limited in person component, safety is our priority.

EEU is a remarkable opportunity to both gain invaluable work experience alongside Columbia faculty, and mentor high school students. EEUs receive a $5000 stipend.

Training is held June 21 - 25, and the program runs June 28 - August 6.

There is a possibility that there will be EEU positions with our Engineering the Next Generation and Research Experience for Teachers programs as well. If this interests you, please note that on your application.
