Probing Neurons with Scanning Ion Conductance Microscopy

In this project we will be using nanopipettes to patch structures within individual neurons in culture using a scanning ion conductance microscope. We are exploring fundamental ion transport properties in these pipettes which affect our ability to use these as tools in these experiments. These patching studies will allow us to study the electrical transfer function of individual neurons at exception spatial resolution.
