Non-linear mechanical properties of brain

To predict traumatic brain injuries in car accidents, computational (finite element) models are often employed. Accurate predictions require appropriate brain material properties commensurate with the loading conditions - high rate and large deformations. This project will focus on extracting non-linear viscoelastic material properties from indentation experiments on brain tissue.
