Design and Control of Batteries for Grid Applications

The student will work closely in developing methods to better control and design large scale batteries, ensuring improved safety, performance, and life. The work will involve characterization of the chemistry of novel batteries as well as the analysis of the electrical properties of batteries during cycling conditions. Experimental work will be closely coordinated with theory, with data used to validate existing theory and inform next generation theories.
