Characterization of the temperature dependence of hydro-philicity/phobicity of thermoresponsive solvents for hypersaline desalination

Hybrid (both Remote and On Site)

We are sorry, this position has been filled.

The aim of the study is to formulate experimental protocols to quantify the polarity (or, equivalently, hydro-philicity/phobicity) of thermoresponsive solvents as a function of temperature. The developed method will be employed to characterize a range of solvents for temperature swing solvent extraction (TSSE), to elucidate the relationship between solvent polarity and water miscibility, ion partioning, and solubility in saline aqueous medium.
