Biomechanics of Force Generation during Tissue Morphogenesis - 3

We are sorry, this position has been filled.

Working with the PI and a postdoc in the lab, the student will investigate how the motor protein myosin II generates mechanical forces within cells to shape tissues during embryonic development of the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. The student will learn confocal microscopy, quantitative image analysis, and Drosophila genetics, and will help to develop a method for measuring mechanical properties of tissues in vivo.
