Biomechanics of Force Generation during Tissue Morphogenesis

Working with the PI and a graduate student in the lab, the student will investigate the mechanical forces generated by cells that build and shape multicellular tissues. The student will gain experience with confocal microscopy and quantitative image analysis. The student will also have the opportunity to use emerging optogenetic technologies that use light to manipulate force generation by cells with high spatial and temporal precision.
