The UG will assist in the development of an automated optical testing system, in part with the AIM Testing Project. Specific tasks will include software development to integrate instrument drivers, optical test flow verification, hardware and software debugging of complete test system, and data entry/analysis. During the course of the research duration, the student will learn more about the practical and experimental aspects of photonics design, testing, and packaging. The student will be exposed to a wide area of photonic research topics, ranging from optical switches to integrated photonic transceivers.
